How to Film a Skate Movie - Behind the Scenes of Red Bull Perspective

Red Bull brings us behind the scenes of its recent high-flying skateboard movie Red Bull Perspective in a new clip. It must be obvious by now that Red Bull is at the pinnacle (insofar as progression) in documenting action sports, and this is surely evidenced in the cheekily named “How to Film a Skate Movie.” Criticism from skeptics (read: purists) questions the true value of a skateboard “film,” and moreover exactly what about a wooden toy necessitates a camera crew and anamorphic lenses. To that, perhaps “How To Film a Skate Movie” contends that unlimited access to some pretty hefty spots, including Arizona’s Big Surf waterpark, and the product these crews ultimately produced (see Sheckler’s smith kickflip out) substantially portrays a vivid image of skateboarding; not as it stands, but as it can be.
