Having come through the ranks and paid dues since the early 2000s, Montreal-bred producer and DJ Lunice has been on a deserving roll for the past few years. From producing tracks for Diplo to forming a production supergroup – TNGHT – with Hudson Mohawke, the prolific Canadian has continued to produce around the world, seeming to improve with every outing. It seems as if Lunice’s personality contrasts his attitude behind the mixing board. Where his penchant for dark, trap-inflected audio soundscapes show a deep complexity, Lunice’s essential items are extremely minimal, compact and notably black. Here we find a leather passport, cardholder and SIM sard case as clever nods to Lunice’s globetrotting, while elsewhere, essential Air Max 90s and a pack of rolling papers are found.
