The essence of our Essentials series is to not only display certain toting must-haves, but to identify the products that define the featured individual. Be it Ben Baller’s extravagant display of luxe goods or even Gourmet Co-Founder Jon Buscemi‘s portable meat slicer, each item, presumptuous or not, reveals what each industry celebrity requires to constantly innovate within their respected trade. Stepping out of the traditional realm of fashion, this installment highlights chef Shane Osborn and the tools he needs to cook up his world-famous dishes. Osborn made a name for himself working as Head Chef and later becoming Partner at French restaurant Pied à Terre in London for 10 plus years. The Australian cook went on to solidify Pied à Terre’s spot among England’s top restaurants becoming one of five locations to earn two Michelin stars for its outstanding quality of food. Having recently taken nine months off to spend time with his family, the renowned cook is now Head Chef at restaurateur Alan Yau’s St Betty in Hong Kong. Located in the Central District of Hong Kong with views overlooking the harbour, St Betty is a 120-seat restaurant offering a modern European menu with local ingredients and Asian influences. With plans to open a self-sustaining greenhouse and co-operative, Osborn will have no problem regaining his title as one of the world’s most innovative chefs.
