Darren Romanelli earned his nickname and title, “Dr.” from his unique marketing ability to prescribe trends and expand on existing styles across the respective universes of both fashion and music. Dr. Romanelli has also developed a reputation for his bespoke and custom-designed garments that cull various vintage textiles and heritage elements to form a cohesive and one-of-a-kind fashion garment. As a full-service brand designer, Romanelli’s Los Angeles-based marketing agency Street Virus has shaped innovative marketing campaigns and crafted entirely new identities for some of the biggest names on the streets like Nike, Converse and Levi’s, while also leveraging unique collaborations with boutiques like Isetan, colette and Maxfields. For this installment of Essentials, we turn inside-out the pockets (and refrigerator) of the iconic style innovator. Expectedly, we find an eclectic collection of accessories from brands Dr. Romanelli has worked with and respects like his visvim wallet, SOPHNET. Liberty notebook, and a one-of-a-kind re-purposed Kill Your Idols vintage Levi’s carry case for his MacBook. Additionally, Dr. Romanelli gives us a further glimpse into his recent collaboration with Bamford Watch Department.
