A Lower East Side drinking institution in the eyes of many, Max Fish’s current location was previously put into jeopardy as the landlord gave them short notice saying they would need to find a new place in early January. Eventually, matters were rectified as Max Fish will live on for at least another year. Since its inception in 1989, the bar has become a meeting place for an eclectic crew of hipsters, skaters and all around creatives. In a tour of the spot with founder Ulli Rimkus, the original purpose of the space as well as the various amounts of art that adorn the walls are highlighted.
