For those of you that does not seem to be too fond of Nickelback, AUX.TV might just have the right thing for you. The music blog has launched a new plugin, titled “Nickelblock,” for Firefox and Chrome in order to eliminate all mentions of the band from web browsers. This plugin comes in honor of the Canadian band’s new album Here and Now, that has been released this week.
Despite a decade spanning career, it is no secret that Nickelback has also often been subject to derision by music lovers. On this note, disappointed American football fans started an online petition to stop the band from performing at a halftime Thanksgiving show. Over 50,000 supporters of the Detroit Lions signed the petition, hoping that Chad Kroeger and company would be axed from the halftime show of their fixture against the Green Bay Packers. If you however appreciate their music, you can stream Here and Now for free over at iTunes.
