Versace for H&M Announcement

Following up on its highly successful projects with designers like Lanvin, Karl Lagerfeld and COMME des GARCONS, H&M has just announced that its next designer collaboration will be with the legendary house of Versace. Designed by creative director Donatella Versace, the collection will channel the legacy and heritage of the Italian luxury label by incorporating leather, prints and (of course) a lot of color. The collection, which will include items designed for men, women and home, will be available starting November 17, 2011 at nearly 300 H&M stores worldwide and online. Versace has also agreed to design an exclusive pre-spring collection for H&M that’s expected to launch online on January 19, 2012.     I have recently been to several Versace boutiques, and yes there sometimes are a lot of items that are not made in Italy, but those are not Black Label items. The true Black Label/Runway pieces sell out very quickly due to the extremely limited quantities produced.  I also found at one location, some of the Black Label items were not displayed in obvious locations.  ALL of the true Black Label/Runway Versace clothing/accesories are made in Italy.

    great for the labels whores that don’t realize even Versace’s couture label is becoming more and more cheap, I have a Versace boutique in my local mall, almost all of the clothes on the rack were NOT made in Italy. But still expensive. Same goes for Dolce and Prada, couture mainline is largely not made in Italy anymore, but if you don’t care where your clothes are made then it doesn’t matter.
