In honor of the 50th anniversary of Harper Lee’s Pulitizer-Prize winning novel To Kill a Mockingbird and the Academy Award-winning performance by Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch, Oliver Peoples launches the Gregory Peck frame. Inspired by the style worn by Mr. Peck as the lead character named the “Greatest Hero in the Movie History” by the American Film Institute, the project pays tribute to the novel and to the stellar performance by its namesake. Anthony Peck, son of the late Gregory Peck, had the original optical frame worn in the film in his possession for many years. With the upcoming anniversary of the legendary literary work, he felt the timing was ideal to recreate this iconic style. As a loyal Oliver Peoples customer for many years, he knew it was the right brand for the project and felt confident a true design representation of the original style could be achieved with the outstanding quality Oliver Peoples is known for. The Gregory Peck frame by Oliver Peoples ($315 USD) will be available for purchase in Oliver Peoples Boutiques and select stores worldwide in May 2011. All proceeds to the Peck Family from this project will be donated to the Los Angeles Public Library.
