KAWS Companion “PassingThrough” Preview

In his biggest Companion to date, KAWS previews a massive sculpture created for an upcoming exhibition titled “PassingThrough”. the exhibition will be presented at Hong Kong’s Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui. Definitely stay tuned for more details of this piece which will be unveiled in October.

    obviously there is a big CHUM as well judging by the hand in the back and as much as everyone is hating on this cmon everything he is does it borrowed down to his latest smurf and spongebob paintings Kaws should do exactly what his name started as go back to north jersey and write his name!!!! However if given the opportunity to market oneself then ride that tornado till the end!

    I’m under no illusions….just think about Kaws first character….It was a “skull and bones”… cartoony-type character with Mickey Mouse hands, feet. I remember reading how Takashi studied and did research on the most popular western (cartoon) character with longevity. Nobody has ever created a character that close to the Mouse. He’s very clever or well connected…..

    You are exactly right “flow”- as much as I love this yes it has borrowwd from the other artist. Kaws also copied exactly the MichelinTire Man which bothered me a little bit.
