property of… Store Opening

Founded by designers and cafe owners Richard Chamberlainand and Peter Teo, property of… first launched in 2007. Now just three years on, property of… is now sold in over 150 stores across Japan, Europe and the USA. Continually expanding, the brand recently opened its first flagship store in Europe, located on the corner of Herenstraat and the world famous Herengracht (canal) in the old centre of Amsterdam. The store aims to reflect its “store in a cafe” origins by showcasing its stylish collection of contemporary accessories in an old cafe/bistro setting. Naturally, the original aim of creating a place which is more than a retail space, where people can hang out remains; in line with the cafe culture, the store will be selling a selection of magazines, notebooks and serving espressos in cooperation with the American coffee roaster Stumptown. The Herenstraat store marks the beginning of an expansion programme that will see stand alone retail outlets established outside of headquarters in singapore, with store openings in New York and Tokyo to follow in the coming months.
