KAWS Installation @ ARCO Madrid

In conjunction with his solo exhibition at the Galerie Javier Lopez in Madrid, KAWS is taking part in the ARCO Art Fair as well, with a small showcase of his signature artwork. Featured is a set of paintings follow his SpongeBob theme, along with one of the artist’s Chum sculptures. ARCO runs through February 21st for those interested in attending.

    even though i love kaws and have for a long, long time, i have to agree with ‘high standards’ ^ on the the way hypebeast overrates him. i dont like seeing things get sooo over saturated in this culture. it only leads to things getting played out faster, and becoming less special, which is usually what attracts most to originals like him in the 1st place. i dunno. take BAPE for an example. call it what you want, but i hope someone understands what im saying… theres just too many posers out there, and too much cash that ruin whole scenes…

    kaws is good, but he’s not THAT amazing. he seems like a modern day roy lichtenstein, with the cartoon theme and great attention to line weight.

    HYPEBEAST overrates both:
    KAWS and
    KRINK (so overrated, just a fad)
