Oakley C-Six Sunglasses Preview
by Eugene Kan, November 19, 2009

For a brand like Oakley, the eyewear purveyor has been on a constant journey of innovation. Likened to the world of F1 racing, developing technologies and products may be counter-intuitive on a retail level but the R&D inevitably pave the way in a manner which will pay for itself down the line as the innovations make their way into the product stream. An upcoming new release includes the C-Six. Made entirely of carbon fiber, the shades are as you would assume extremely light and durable. Retail price is set at an exorbitant $4,500 CAD (approximately $4,253 USD). Also seen is a translucent neon green Frogskin set for a release in the future.

I was expecting something a little more exciting. I guess it’s more about the tech than the look, but I would have figured Oakley would have been more ostentatious like they usually are. Though it probably is best they put something out that is a little more muted than tacky for a change….
