The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles held its 30th Anniversary event over the weekend. Amongst the star-studded attendees were Pharrell Williams and Japanese superflat master Takashi Murakami. The event showcased the museum’s entire collection for the first time ever with a special performance by Lady Gaga, playing on a Damien Hirst-painted piano which was later auctioned off for $450,000.

    Definitivamente, el día de hoy el arte es un producto más en el mercado, con la publicidad, la mercadotecnia y los medios de comunicación. Prueba de ello; este Piano, que bien pudo ser pintado por algún artesano de tlaquepaque… Ahhh, pero como fué pintado por el publicitado comerciante del arte Damien Hirst, pudo subastarse por 450,000 dolares.
