Photographer Michael Lavine has collaborated with author Thurston Moore (of grunge band Sonic Youth) on their book ‘Grunge’ a an illustrated tell-all account of the life and death of the Grunge movement – which emerged in late – 1980s Seattle before taking over pop culture proper for the better half of the 1990s. Moore writes about the discovery of Seattle punk youth; the seminal bands that defined the movement; the exploitation of the subculture; the backlash of grunge; as well as the death of his long-time collaborator and intimate Kurt Cobain. Meanwhile Lavine presents an accomplished series of photos which perfectly capture the movement. Grunge is now available from Amazon.

Sonic Youth is not nor has ever been a Grunge band. and “longtime collaborator and intimate Cobain”. Collaborated on what and is supposed to make it sound like they were lovers?
