os gemeos mural bowery art 1 Os Gemeos Mural NYC: Completed

Following up on our earlier coverage of the Os Gemeos in NYC piece, we get a closer look into the mural, which has now been completed by the Brazilian brotherly duo. The colorful masterpiece should be up for quite sometime, as the last piece it replaced was the tribute mural, done in commemoration of the late Keith Haring.

go out and make something better, then come back. the point is that there’s a shitload of people who can create classical art, which is the base an artist starts with; it’s the people who do something different that stand out

    Why wouldn’t they?

Isn’t that the whole point of street art – anyone can see it, anyone can destroy it? Isn’t that exactly why street art is a trillion times more interesting than just art – it’s alive and doesn’t perish an unwelcoming death in storage.

I love how people try and appear “civilized” by saying a painting that looks like something from grade school is “modern art”.

Oh, the sheep of our society.

This is where it is “Brazilian brotherly duo Os Gemeos continues NYC’s artistic recognition with a new mural on the corner of Houston and Bowery, where a Keith Haring tribute piece has stood for the past year.”

Living in NY and seeing how much graffiti there is in this city on a daily basis, I would not doubt the fact that some asshole will eventually tag over it.
