BAPE (R) USA Website Launch
by Eugene Kan, May 27, 2009

In the last few months, BAPE (R) has really opened its doors to the markets including Zozotown and the Bape Pirate Store. However, perhaps the most noteworthy unveiling is an all new BAPE (R) USA website which will include not only English updates but a full-fledged webstore as well. For a brand that for the longest time was virtually inaccessible through 1st party mediums, this really changes things up. The site can be visited at US.BAPE.com.

I personally don’t like online shopping. I like browsing through the SoHo store and picking out what looks best IMO.
bape isn’t sold everywhere. yes it is a step towards selling out in a sense to many eyes, but is how many carriers in the usa are there of bape?
i find it ironic that the “exclusive” flash people want exclusive-ness, but complain when it is so exclusive that it is not recognized.
bape has been since ~93, and hasn’t died, it doesn’t seem to wavered, but gotten better.
to the person asking about pricing, i believe it is 73 or 83 usd in store for the shirts. relatively, this saves a large “hassle” for many people. pondon and cliffedge will still be there, just both will have to be smarter in stock, and they will most likely jack up price of older items even more due to this nick in their businessplan.
if bape has a radical change with the head of tet, then many will be turned off and the online source will be needed. bape has been a largely online-based brand in america anyways.

How much are standard T’s and crewnecks at the Bape store in NYC?
Just wondering cuz I’m living in Tokyo and will be moving to NYC later this year so looking to compare prices.
Appreciate the help.
~When i went to NY over winter break last year all the t’s were $80, this was when the Tracksta’s just came out, haddd to cop the all white one’s and a matchin tee

people still rock BAPE?
nigo has done some great beats in the past…..
damn man what bout the u.k?
l need me some bape asap
kinda mean how you hook up the states like that:(
This is awesome. 99% of Bape stuff I would never buy and would never want to have to go through the effort to get it. Now, when there’s that random hat or t-shirt that I really like, I can just grab it. I support this.
What are y’all takeing about nigo is smart he is expanding his bussines and regardless what you guys say he still going to make money you how many awlays ask how can I get bape stuff if you didn’t live in ny and those japanese websites the clothes is on I’m sure none of us could understand the page so it the clothes will stay exclusive cause not everybody cand afford it
Well to be honest this is a good move for the true Bape fans,so now people don’t have to travel alway to Spring st. or Japan lmao to get Bape, and the exclusiveness will still be there, due to the fact if your’e a real Bape follower or supporter, this brand will never lose it’s spark, now if your’e one of these hype following asswholes who let’s the media and entertainment entities control your train of thought and what you think is cool, well then I’m pretty sure they’ll have something else for you to follow pretty soon lmao!!!
time to find a new brand….
April Fools?
Then again, Supreme does have an on-line shop. So there
When does the store launch?
will the uk get a site?
cant say “too bad for pondon or cliff edge”. half of the stuff released doesnt reach the US anyways.
dude, for those who live far from SoHo or Japan, this is the shit, i can finally buy bape whenever, not only when i’m like on vacation in NY
What happened to exclusivity?
who really gives a fuck you desperate herb go get vicked.
“dominance of cool” really!
Actually, Nigo dont want his clothing to be worn by everyone, thats the main reason why he kept it so limited. But we all know that Nigo has stepped back as the head for the BAPE brand. Maybe thats why it is now a web-shop. But who gives a fuck, really, BAPE was 2004/05 shit…
Also, too bad for major resellers like Cliffedge and Pondon on eBay…..
I like that I don’t have to go to SoHo anymore to shop for BAPE, but this is kind of lame. This takes all of the appeal away. It will be interesting to see if this blows them up, or ends their dominance of cool. The sneakers and shirts I have bought over the years just don’t seem as fresh right now.
I understand Nigo, as a clothing designer, wanting to have see his brand worn by people all over the world, but this, utter FAIL.
What happened to exclusivity?
I officially might need to file for bankruptcy.
