Kicking off a new year, fitted specialists Hella Tight steer into a new direction with their latest project. Poking fun at the always controversial Washington Redskins logo, the Bay Area-based brand keep it playful with their “Rednecks” interpretation. Keeping in tune with the theme, Hella Tight went with a snap-back platform rather than their usual fitted silhouettes. The cap features a traditional burgundy and gold colorway with a nice mix of flat and raised embroidery. Limited to only 100 pieces, they are now available via the Hella Tight online store.

    i feel like whoever designed this, just thought of the washington redskins and simply though “oh hehe what if they were the ‘rednecks’?” and then convinced themselves how genius it would be to flip their logo.

    ok controversial logo, i get it. but what do the washington redskins have to do with rednecks? i don’t see the relationship. not very intelligent to me.

    Point is people are talking about issues just from hats. Hate on HellaTight atleast they are doing something worth discussing. It’s just a fun poke at the Redskins logo. The concept is to bring awareness to the REDSKINS logo which is offensive.

    It’s not just whites who perpetuate this stuff. Won’t a black dude wearing this thing alienate white people just like him wearing a Cleveland Indians cap alienate native americans? But some white people will think this is cool and embrace it, just like some native americans think these caricatures of their race is cool. It’s funny though that these guys are jewish and filipino or something and think stereotyping whites will instigate a change regarding the caricatured native in sports. Thanks for taking on the cause, guys, we needed it. It’s really just a way to make money off fashionable social issues… and Natives asked for your help, right?
