Creative Director for Givenchy
Riccardo Tisci and storied fashion house Givenchy have built an engaging partnership in shaping a world of moody conceptual creations since Tisci was appointed head of womenswear in 2005 and later head of menswear in 2008. Immersing the house in his obsession with animalistic and religious themes, the designer’s precisely-executed imagination has breathed new life into Givenchy, bringing a newfound relevance to the more youthful eye – effectively defining luxury streetwear. Of note in 2013 were a series of visually compelling Doberman-printed and Renaissance-inspired ready-to-wear pieces that instantly elevated the brand from a visual perspective. Tisci’s acclaimed makeover of the brand is set to continue at least until 2016, as the designer notes he is shifting into “expansion mode” for upcoming seasons.
