Vans is an American apparel and footwear brand known for its influence on sports, especially on skateboarding, surf and BMX. Founded by brothers Paul Van Doren and James Van Doren, along with Serge D’Elia and Gordon Lee, the first Vans store was opened in 1966 as “The Van Doren Rubber Company.”
