As a tribute to the Japanese baseball team SoftBank Hawks and their 20th anniversary in the city of Fukuoka, the perennial play-off contenders have teamed up with Casio G-Shock on their popular DW-5600 model. The watch is decked out in Hawks colors and features the message “We = Hawks” when the backlight is activated. Set to release on May 28th.

Entering its 25th year of service, Casio G-Shock has become a dependable and trustworthy purveyor of durable timepieces at reasonable prices. Although a bigger phenomenon amongst Asian markets, nevertheless the G-Shock has managed to stay contemporary with new styles to compliment its reliable classics. This months releases include the G-Shock Project Team Tough Special Edition, Glorious Gold Pack, various G-LIDEs (including the much talked about In4mation collabo) and the futuristic looking G-8100.

On April 28th, Bape will be releasing a new A Bathing Ape G-Shock. This new watch will come in a navy blue color and will feature a the Bape STA Camo on the front dial. Retail for 21,000 Yen, these will be available at the Bapexclusive store as well as Bape stores worldwide.
To celebrate the Casio G-Shock 25th Anniversary, the Japanese electronics company will drop a big event in New York City. Tokyo-based photographer Yasumasa Yonehara aka Yone will be there to present his campaign for the new G-Shock line with his trademark sultry photography. Artists such as Kanye West and Pharrell Williams will also be in attendance during the May event.

To further tribute Casio G-Shock’s 25th anniversary, an incredible partnership with Nissan’s in-house tuner brand has resulted in a special edition G-Shock x Nismo Fairlady Z. Commonly known as the 350Z elsewhere around the world, the car features obvious Nismo branding and parts as well as the addition of a limited run MRG-8000G G-Shock. This project is exclusive to Taiwan according to Conope.
Becoming the posterchild for affordable and durable watches, through 25 years Casio G-Shock has been put through its paces. Two new packs include the 25th Anniversary special edition Ocean Gray set and the Rastafarian pack. The Ocean Gray pack includes translucent rubber throughout in a special collectors box. The Rastafarian movement has unfortunately become mostly associated and reduced to a palette of colors as it is seen here on this other pack of G-Shocks. Both will release in Japan on March 21st.

The 104th result of a Bape and Casio G-Shock collaboration will release later this month. The DW-6900 model has a black body with yellow accents forming the text while the chronometer dials are filled in with red and green. Available later this month March 20th, at Bape Taipei.

Getting a G-Shock produced from Casio is no easy feat. First you have to know the guys at Casio, then you or your brand has to be cool enough to qualify. That bring us to this new G-Shock collaboration watch with Atmos Tokyo. Atmos is a Japanese brand & shop have been one of the entities that have kept the streetwear movement alive in Japan. They have chosen the popular DW-5600E-1 for their collaboration watch which features a white colorway, a strap that has star patten embossed onto it, a custom lasered back panel and a custom watch face. It even comes in a special box. This watch will be available starting April 1st and will retail for 15,750 Yen. Available at Atmos Tokyo.
It’s been awhile since the original debut G-Shock from Casio 25 years ago, but the timeless design and functionality have still made it relevant today. At the recent Agenda trade show, In4mation debuted an upcoming bright and glossy G-Shock. The old generation meets the new with XLarge hooking up with The Hundreds in a California affair. The two heavyweights worked together on the highly overdone G-Shock DW-6900. The watch strap features print seen on recent The Hundreds releases with an XL/TH design seen on the watch face. The box also includes the XLarge ape as well as a special collaborative crest.
