As part of their latest collection, Washington, DC based label DURKL has released their own cut-and-sew denim line. Each pair is made in LA and incorporates classic 5-pocket styling with contrast stitching. They come garment dyed in five colors: purple, cyan, yellow, black and white and are available in both classic and slim fit cuts. Available now at DURKL with a price tag of $99 USD.
Hellz Bellz has consistently been pushing boundaries within the world of fashion. Regardless of gender, they’ve always been at the root of innovative designs and offering quality and intelligent apparel for the female demographic. With inspiration derived from music, film and underground culture, each design is a true representation of the brands personality. They’ve recently began releasing their 2007 Holiday Collection which includes an extensive collection of t-shirts, outerwear and denim. Look for Hellz Bellz to hit select dealers in the coming days.
Throughout its history, Levi’s had an enviable place among denim brands as the most popular and well respected purveyors of denim. With a strong collection of archival models, they recently debuted their New from Original Collection which features a series of revamped and reinterpreted styles for the present. The 700 series includes three new models 702/703/705 for a total of five cuts, Tight Fit – Straight, Regular Fit – Straight, Relax Fit – Straight, Loose Fit – Straight and finally Regular Fit – Boot Cut. Within each model you will find a variety of different washes and varying degrees of distressing. No word yet on worldwide availability aside from Japan.
Visvim will be releasing a new series of items later this week at Hong Kong’s F.I.L. shop. The definitive highlight of this release is the Elemdorf Gore Windstopper jacket. Featuring distressed leather, the jacket incorporates the best of both worlds by combining classic stylings with the technical features of Windstopper. Other releases include the Welded Oneida L/S shirt utilizing high quality Sea Island cotton, Fluxus 02 Indigo Damaged denim, UK Commander 2 Border sweater and a Basic Rucksack / Hexagon backpack. These items will release on Saturday, November 10th at Hong Kong’s F.I.L.

Japanese sneaker store Atmos has teamed with Levi’s to once again release a special series of products under the influence of Buffalo Check. The pack includes two pairs of denim, in the 703 cut as well as a Military Sherpa jacket. The two pieces of denim are available in either dark or light colored used models with Buffalo Check details. The Military Sherpa jacket includes details on the shoulder similar to the bottom stitching seen on the back pockets of Levis denim. These items are exclusive to Atmos.
Bape will release a new series of items next week as part of their 2007 Autumn/Winter Collection. Seen here are some pieces using simple designs and patterns without any overpowering tones. These items include hoodies, crewneck sweaters, t-shirts, camo cords and accessories such as beanies and NDS cases. These items will release on November 3rd, 2007 at Hong Kong’s Bape Store.

The Capital [E] line represents one of Levi’s newer labels and allows for the creation of some more modern cuts all while maintaining a quality product. Each product is constructed by hand in the USA and must pass over 30 tests before they hit store shelves. Available now at the Melrose Avenue boutique, SURU.
The Levi’s Artist Series is a project between Levi’s and different designers and artists from around the world. The first artist that Levi’s worked with was with Matzu MTP, a Japanese artist which mixes traditional Japanese techniques with urban American inspirations to create something unseen before. The second artist that Levi’s worked with was KAWS, an artist from New York that is considered one of the most well known graf artist in the world. Lastly, Levi’s gotten together with jeffstaple from Staple Design to create the 3rd installment from this series. Here is a sneak peek at the denim which will release sometime mid November. In an interesting development, one of America’s premier denim stores Self Edge has teamed up with well known vintage reproduction denim makers Sugar Cane to produce Sugar Cane’s first ever slim cut denim. In the past, Sugar Cane gained notoriety for it’s well executed Levi’s and Lee reproductions jeans. The SEXSC02 (model name formed as an anagram of the two collaborating companies) features 14.5 oz double ring-spin raw unsanforized (not pre-treated for shrinkage) Japanese selvedge denim, hidden rivets, Sugar Cane logo buttons, an ostrich skin leather tag, Houndstooth fabric pockets and of course SC’s first ever slim cut. The jeans are set to release on Saturday, October 13th in store at Self Edge as well as Denim Bar. Online sales will commence on Saturday, October 20th. Check the Self Edge site for more details regarding measurements as it becomes available.
As part of their 2007 Fall Collection, Mishka recently dropped some new denim pieces. Within the drop are the “My Older Brother’s” Denim Jacket and Alexis Raw Selvedge. The jacket features graphics by Derek Riggs, illustrator of Iron Maiden. Available now at Boundless NYC.
The FLU line represents a sub-division of the originators of denim, Levi’s. With a theme revolving around sports culture and streetwear, the FLU division incorporates some more liberal design themes. A preview of their upcoming 2007 Fall Collection includes the Consept L/S Border Tee, Consept L/S Dot Tee and the Loose Fit Monogram Cool Max Chino. Some of FLU’s previous collaborations have included famous Seattle Mariners outfielder Ichiro Suzuki and Japanese football star Hidetoshi Nakata. Available soon on Zozotown.
A new pair of Levi’s Fenom is set to release on September 29th. The Crystal Disco Decoration model is heavily encrusted with Swarovski crystals. A “wind” styled crystal design can be seen on the rear yoke. Seven different styles and sizes of crystals were used. Priced at ¥45,150 (approximately $391 USD).
