Legendary skateboard graphic artist Jim Phillips has teamed up with the crew at Made by Monsters to produce another collaborative effort. The trucker cap includes an exaggerated shape with an embroidered Jim Phillips Eyeball logo. This Signature Series cap is limited to 50 pieces worldwide.
It’s been approximately one year since the passing of Fiberops’ Tatsushi ‘Tabo’ Kagaya. Throughout his time, he’s had an unheralded impact among many things he’s touched. From his shaping of Hong Kong on a grassroots level to the friendships he’s developed, he has created a legacy not soon forgotten. Some of Tabo’s closet friends such as Know1edge, Fiberops and Subcrew teamed up to produce a special “Everything Happens to Me” trucker cap with proceeds going towards Tabo’s family.

Saint Alfred didn’t waste any time getting into some cut & sew pieces based on traditional styles which include Heavy Winter Raglan Cut Zip Hooded Fleece, “A” Monogram Winter Raglan Cut Zip Hooded Fleece, Saint Alfred Varsity Jacket with melton wood, full grain leather and micro rip stop lining. Throughout Asia, the hot sticky weather for the most part makes mesh caps a more popular alternative to the bread and butter fitted cap seen in other parts of the world. Having said that, the Japanese market has always been a bit of the exception in the fitted cap market (baseball anyone?) with realmad HECTIC releasing two new styles. This includes a patent style and a more conventional wool product with a logo design done by Goodenough UK. Available now at eproze.
Hong Kong label NSBQ followed up their success with a new collection of Castro-styled hats. Five different styles were produced, each possessing an unique characteristic from handmade Kheffiye scarves. Each hat package is enclosed with a wax seal. The hat is also stamped with a Liberation Army stamp to signify the cap owner’s identity and bloodtype.
New York City label Acapulco Gold are beginning to roll out their Holiday 2007 collection. One of the key pieces Included in the latest drop is the wool Point Shaving Jacket. What makes this baseball jacket special is the real ribbon folded and sewn on the front to spell out ‘GOLD’. Next we have the ribbon sweat with the same folded ribbon letters and the AG crest screen printed underneath the letters. The Holiday delivery also includes the ‘OG’ New Era hat, which features tonal Acapulco Gold embroidery to highlight the ‘OG’ in the brand name. These hats also have tonal floral leaves that wrap around the whole hat front to back. Available in stores now.
Lifestyle magazine Vapors were given the opportunity to create a special Friends & Family release New Era 59Fifty. The neon inspiration was lifted from the ever popular Neon Air Max 95. Designed by Weekly Drop’s Frank the Butcher, only 100 of these will only be handed out to select individuals.
San Francisco based Huf has always maintained a strong fitted hat presence with their trademark ‘H’ logo and its variants. However Huf is set to broaden it’s horizons with a full out Fall/Winter Collection. The regular array of fitted New Eras can be seen along side outerwear such as baseball jackets, M-65 jackets, t-shirts and various forms of hats and beanies. Available now at Huf.

24 Kilates is a boutique in Barcelona Spain that will be releasing a triple collaboration project with New Balance and New Era. This “Modernism Pack” is inspired by Atoni Gaudi’s beautiful architecture that basically defined what Barcelona looks like present day. This special edition release will be limited to 144 pieces and will be released in March 2008.

A small number of the 2007 Holiday Collection from Futura Laboratories has hit select dealers worldwide. Among the drops include a crewneck/hoodie combination of the “Brains Not Breaks” Deck design as well as the 208 hoodie and various headwear. Available now at Haven.
True will debut their latest collection of caps next month based on a the theme of vintage materials finding their way onto these caps. The first release from the San Francisco originated outfit is this Phillipe Onyx striped pattern, available December 1st at True and True East.
