Two familiar partners in crime, massive Japanese sneaker store Atmos has had the pleasure of working with New Balance on numerous occasions to fulfill the large Japanese appetite for the NB. We’ve seen distinct design patterns emanating from the Land of the Rising Sun as the Japanese are known to adore concept driven footwear as well as more liberal creations. The latest Atmos x New Balance collabo features a color-changing upper which changes colors relative to heat. A July release date has been set however aside from Atmos NY, don’t expect these to be too readily available outside of Japan.

Last week saw the initial unveiling of the Atmox x Puma Endangered Species pack which featured footwear based on a variety of endangered animals. While part one included animals based largely on the North and South Poles, a follow-up reveals other animal based styles such as the Ibis (bird) Clyde and the Panda Mid. Each sneaker includes a detailed photographic shot on the insole, captured by award winning Japanese photographer Mitsuaki Iwago. Set to release July 28th at Atmos locations.

Taking a theme literally and running with it is probably the best way to describe Atmos’ latest sneaker collaboration with Puma. Three endangered species from the snowy wastelands of the Arctic and Antarctic are portrayed through the eyes of Puma’s vintage model, the Clyde as well as a lesser seen model, Mid. The pack of animal-based sneakers grabs its inspiration largely from wildlife photographer Mitsuaki Iwago (of National Geographic) and photos accumulated over the years. The pack, aside from pushing the envelope for sneaker themes was created to bring awareness to the dire wildlife preservation situation. The three animals chosen as inspirations include the Harp Seal Clyde, Polar Bear Clyde and Macaroni Penguin Mid (frills seen around the ankle). Exclusive to Atmos, these will release on June 28th with price tags ranging from $125 USD to $150 USD.

These days, paying for your swagger is no harder then charging mommy and daddy’s plastic card. But if you happen to live in a cash driven society i.e. Asia, where retailers are too worried about paying their 10 cents on each card related transaction, cash is the safest way to go. Enter the slightly effeminate notion of a coin purse which keeps all those coins together. Atmos has offered up their Bottega Veneta-esque Brick Coin Purse which includes a carabiner and Visvim/Red Moon beaded pull. Doesn’t really come off as anything groundbreaking but available now at Atmos.
