One of Japan’s leading design firms G1950 has linked up with fashion brand Untold on a series of bags and accessories by Porter. The U.G.P. collection includes a wallet (6,825 Yen), backpack (16,800 Yen) and waist bag (13,440 Yen) all sharing a common purple theme.
With the upcoming celebration of Chinese New Year on the horizon, a special bag was designed to accompany the purchase of Nike’s Chinese New Year hoodies. The “Year of the Rat” motif is based on the mouse wheel with gold accents. The bags will be handed out free of charge.

2008 marks the 10th anniversary of the London boutique The Hideout and so to celebrate this event, The Hideout will be working with some friends and partners on some collaboration products. The first one is a messenger bag with Japanese luggage maker, Porter. The messenger bag is “styled after a traditional Newsboy bag in canvas with triple-stitch construction and stud rivets, but with modern features from a contemporary Porter bag. The shop motto ‘MY KARMA DRIVES OVER MY DOGMA’ is chain stitched on the front.”

Futura Laboratories is the clothing line based on the old school graffiti artist, Futura 2000. Here are some of the latest items from the line which include a series of Pointman Messenger Bag and Hoodies. The Pointman is one of Futura’s most recognizable symbols probably second to his Atoms so using the Pointman as a reference for design will make some interesting items. Four styles of messenger bags and hoodies were created and you can acquire them now at the Futura Laboratory shop in Japan.
Levi’s and Porter are set to release a new series of bags and accessories. The collection features classic Porter styles such as the Boston bag, Tote Bag and Day Pack. Each bag is constructed of denim to keep in theme with the Levi’s collaboration. The products will release on January 8th at Levi’s Store. Previous products between the two brands included a pack which included wallets, bags and a ring seen here.
With a strong presence derived from music, Japanese brand swagger has harvested strong relationships with the likes of Lupe Fiasco for their clothing collections. A recent collaboration involved Porter to release the Haris Tweed Daybag. Perfect for your everyday pursuits, three colorways of the co-branded bag are available through choiceisyours.jp.
The latest collection from the Beams/Porter B Yoshida team up has yielded two shoulder bags. The Calm Shoulder Bag features a chemically treated finish over high quality leather materials to offer all-weather protection. The Heat Shoulder Bag incorporates a flame retardant and abrasion resistant material. A special feature also includes a pull-tab which doubles as a Mag-Lite. Available through B Yoshida.
Goodenough UK employed the services of German bag makers Bagjack to create a collection of bags and accessories. Regardless of your need, the releases cover a variety of everyday uses with cellphone holders, tote bags, messenger bags and a small pack bag. Each bag is constructed of nylon and leather. Visvim recently released a collection of shoes including the FBT and the Kiefer Hi under a “New Year” motif. Continuing with this New Year collection are some new accessories including a Ballistic Backpack and a Ballistic E-Cat messenger bag. Both utilizes heavy duty material and comes in two colorways – black/red and black/blue. They are now available at Figure and retails for 31,290. If you haven’t checked out the Ballistic bags from Visvim, you should definitely take a look if you have a chance.
We have been hearing a lot of Gallery 1950 or their label G1950 lately due to collaborations they have done with Original Fake, Visvim, Cause, Stussy and more. This time around, they have produced several bags including a backpack, a waist bag, a pouch, a Boston bag and a outdoor shoulder bag with Japanese luggage maker Porter.
