The Ball Out Series from New York’s Alife has been arguably one of the most successfully collection of sneakers hands down. From its first release utilizing the conventions of tennis ball neon yellow to later colors of orange and white, the Ball Out has had quite a strong following. Two new colorways of black and hot pink have just popped up in Alife’s online store as what we imagine is part of the Black Friday festivities. Price is set at $200 USD.
Alife has also created a series of matching t-shirts to correspond with the upcoming release of the Alife x Asics Gel Lyte III sneakers. For the 2008 Spring Collection, Alife has expanded its popular footwear range to include these two models. Both shoes offer an Alife reinspired perspective on some classic silhouettes. Although the runner shoe silhouette of the Alife x New Balance 576 didn’t pan out, this unworldly concept with Asics did materialize with the use of the Gel Lyte III running shoe. This creation derives its inspiration from a Godzilla/reptile theme which is definitely one of the more literal sneakerfications of any creature themed sneaker we’ve ever seen.
