Description

Nick Wooster is an American street style influencer and fashion consultant. Born in Salina, Kansas, Wooster worked at the local clothing store Joseph P. Roth & Sons, which he credits for setting him on a career in fashion. After attending the University of Kansas for journalism and advertising between 1978 and 1982, Wooster moved to New York to work for advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi. Finding it to be a bad fit, Wooster instead secured a position as assistant department manager at Saks Fifth Avenue, before working as account executive at the New York Magazine in 1984 - 1985. In 1987, Wooster became a buyer for Barneys New York, and then for Bergdorf Goodman. He then left buying for a position as director of retail merchandising for Calvin Klein in 1993, then design director at Polo Ralph Lauren, then president of John Bartlett in 1996. In 2001, Wooster left John Bartlett to found Wooster Consultancy, and then worked as merchandising manager for Rozae Nichols in 2005, then creative services director for Splendid/Ella Moss. In his biggest move yet, Wooster was named as fashion director for Neiman Marcus in 2010, but was ousted one and a half years later for giving a frank interview to GQ. He then advised for Thom Browne and Gilt Groupe, before heading to JCPenney to oversee the brand direction. In June 2013, Wooster left JCPenney to work as a fashion consultant and fashion personality, since designing collaborations with UNITED ARROWS, Lardini, and Hamilton.
