Description
Vancouver-based Craig Atkinson is the CEO of CYC Design Corporation and the founder of Canadian contemporary menswear brands wings+horns and Reigning Champ.
Atkinson lived in Japan for seven years. He began importing vintage North American sportswear items to Japan, which eventually lead him to founding CYC Design Corp, a real estate company that has been in the garment manufacturing business for over 15 years. Initially having produced quality knitwear for private labels, CYC Design Corp now boasts a client list that includes the likes of Supreme and Arc’teryx.
Atkinson is the founder and owner of two Vancouver-based brands, wings+horns and Reigning Champ. Both labels are proud to offer locally hand-crafted garments where the entire manufacturing process is controlled in-house at CYC Design Corp.
Atkinson founded wings+horns after multiple trips between Vancouver and Japan in 2004, in search of creating a brand that celebrated both Canadian design and materials with Japanese attention to detail. wings+horns has garnered much international success and has been heralded for its minimalist menswear and wardrobe staples that are heavily influenced by an East-meets-West aesthetic.
Atkinson founded Reigning Champ in 2008. The brand boasts well-made basics constructed with high-quality materials, with unique fleece and knitwear being the brand’s defining characteristic. The heavyweight and tiger fleece items have garnered Atkinson and designer Kenta Goto the nicknames of the “Kings of Fleece.”
By forefronting wings+horns and Reigning Champ, Atkinson has channeled his penchant for superior craftsmanship and design into these two creative outlets, and has also helped put Vancouver, BC onto the international stage of the fashion industry.
