Kobe Bryant is a former American professional NBA basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers. He is a 17-time All-Star, 15-time member of the All-NBA team, 12-time member of the All-defensive team, and has won five championships throughout his 19 year career. Considered one of the greats of the game, he has led the league in scoring twice, and is third among the league’s all-time regular season scoring and all-time post-season scoring list. After completing a successful high-school basketball career, Bryant declared himself for NBA draft and was signed 13th overall. The Olympic gold medalist is also the youngest player in league history to reach 30,000 points, at 34 years and 104 days old. Before his rookie season, Bryant signed a six-year contract with adidas worth approximately $48 million, before switching to Nike later in his career. His signature basketball sneaker line by Nike has seen many different iterations, establishing it as one of the more popular basketball sneaker lines currently sold by the brand.

Last month, Nike’s campaign for the all new Hyperdunk basketball shoe kicked off with a campaign featuring the NBA’s 2007/2008 MVP Kobe Bryant leaping over a speeding Aston Martin. Following up on this, Kobe and the Hyperdunk’s latest spot also incorporates the Jackass crew with the backdrop featuring a pool filled with snakes. Of course with the inclusion of Jackass, it’s more then safe to assume there’s some added comedic value involved in the video.

Kobe Bryant Jumps over Aston Martin wearing Nike Hyperdunks

As previously shown, Nike unveiled their new shoe for the Beijing Olympics, the Hyperdunk, which will be worn by Kobe and his USA teammates. A video has surfaced showing exactly how efficient these new shoes might become. It looks like Kobe is joined by fellow Laker Ronny Turiaf in a scene where Kobe attempts to jump over an Aston Martin while wearing the Hyperdunk. Whether this is actually Kobe or a stunt double remains to be seen, but from the looks of it these sneakers can definitely take off.
