American designer Alexander Wang used 2018 to push his collaborative efforts forwards. Along with a bevy of successful team ups with German giant adidas Originals, Wang also provided his creative services to the likes of fast fashion retailer UNIQLO, Korean sunglasses brand GENTLE MONSTER, The New York Post’s gossip column Page Six, and an unconventional capsule with Trojan Condoms that included a range of apparel. Of course, the designer kept his focus on his own label, having launched the festival-inspired Wangfest, a barcode-heavy capsule, and finally by producing a love letter to America with “COLLECTION 1.” Along with the aforementioned, Wang stepped away from the usual New York Fashion Week schedule of February and September and decided to move his runway shows to June and December of each year.
