Description

Columbia is an American sportswear company founded during 1938 by Paul Lamfrom in Washington County, Oregon. The brand began as a family hat distribution company with Lamfrom’s parent, who escaped Nazi Germany to Oregon, at the forefront. The company changed from its original name to Columbia Hat Company, due to the location’s nearby Columbia River. In 1960, the brand became Columbia Sportswear Company as it began to manufacture its own products. Today, the publicly traded company is still run by the same family and is known for its breathable waterproof fabrics, as well as its interchangeable shells and liner.

Columbia | Lowrider x Kinetics Collection

Japanese label Kinetics has risen from relative obscurity in recent months thanks largely in part to a series of co-branded products released in anticipation of next years Batman movie. Two of their latest products involve a jacket with outdoor brand Columbia and a shemagh produced together with Japanese music inspired brand Lowrider. Each product maintains subtle highlights, in the case of the shemagh, a skull design is woven into the fabric while the black exterior of the jacket features colored accents throughout.
