Converse is an American shoe company, best known for the canvas All Star shoe, founded by Marquis Mills in 1908. One of the well-known series Chuck Taylor All Star brought success to Converse, with Chuck made an adjustment to the sneaker to provide greater support and flexibility on its functionality and made it one of the greatest basketball shoes with history. The Chuck Taylor All-Star has received an enormous amount of attention throughout its fabled existence. This latest release incorporates the concept of Ripstop material on the upper. Ripstop nylon holds several worthwhile characteristics such as low weight, water repellency and resistance to tearing. This model has been created as an exclusive for British retailer, JD Sports.

There seems to be a larger supply of functional winter kicks in recent months with various companies creating footwear that provide a more comfortable and sometimes safer experience in the colder months. Despite the long and storied history of Converse which has spanned close to a century, the company whose foundation was built largely on the laurels of a few models has created some new reinterpretations of their timeless classics. Among the new releases for this season are All-Star Hi’s featuring extra large logo’s, printed fronts and the use of new materials. With 2008 marking the 100th Anniversary of footwear maker Converse, those curious of what’s in store will unfortunately have to be patient for new developments. However here’s a look at some recent releases from Converse, a brand that has transcended every facet of society and seen on the feet of so many. Two Oxford models were released, a black leather and snakeskin colorway as well as an all suede creation while the iconic Chuck Taylor High was given the multi-colored treatment as well a contrasting white toebox and tongue model.
