Clive Christian’s “Uncovered”, the house’s first transparent perfume, unfolds like the moment frost gives way to morning light. Selected from 14 competing compositions at the CPL Fragrance House Conference, perfumer Elise Pierre’s floral musk opens with a crisp, almost glacial brightness. Sparkling aldehydes and cool eucalyptus reach the senses first, sharpened by a flicker of pink pepper and lifted by the sunny tang of bergamot. Picture a winter window as the sun breaks through: clean, bracing and quietly inviting a closer look.
As that initial chill recedes, the fragrance reveals a warmer core. Immortelle absolute lends a honeyed, sun-dried richness, while powdery orris and creamy ylang oil round out the edges, and a salty accord adds an intimate, skin-close quality. The drydown settles into white musk, sandalwood, moss and amber, glowing slowly like embers seen through clear glass. Composed at a 40% concentration from 164 ingredients, the scent is built around the idea of quiet self-revelation, appearing simple at first impression yet continuing to unveil new layers the longer it rests on the skin.
The packaging completes this story of a cool exterior concealing inner warmth. “Uncovered” is presented in a sculpted, crystal-clear glass flacon with nothing to obscure what lies inside, a vessel meant to reflect its wearer as both vulnerable and resilient.
