Lunay is bringing a little Puerto Rican warmth to the holiday season. The reggaeton star joins Yeat, JT and KATSEYE’s Megan Skiendiel for UGG’s latest holiday campaign, “Gift the Feeling”. The campaign reflects the playfulness of gift-giving, putting personal connection, unexpected surprises and cozy footwear at the center of your holiday festivities.

From walking the runway for Willy Chavarria to developing an unforgettable on-stage look, Lunay continues to make his mark in fashion. This time, he is trading the spotlight for a holiday gift exchange, bringing his recognizable Puerto Rican energy to a campaign that celebrates the joy of giving just as much as receiving.

Hypebeast caught up with Lunay to discuss his favorite Christmas traditions back home in Puerto Rico, why comfort remains a non-negotiable part of his wardrobe, and the importance of putting genuine thought into the gifts we give. He also shares what makes the perfect holiday surprise and why a good pair of UGG boots might top his Christmas list.

How did your holiday partnership with UGG come about?

I had already had the opportunity to work with the brand on their clog campaign, so working together again felt very natural. I like how UGG combines style and comfort, and I liked this campaign because it also speaks to something I value a lot: being thoughtful with the people you love and finding ways to show them how much they mean to you with gifts.

What is your first memory wearing UGG boots?

The first thing that comes to mind is how comfortable they are. I always saw them as something for the cold, but I like how nowadays you can wear them with any outfit and put your own twist on them.

How are you celebrating the holiday season with UGG for the first time?

This year, I had the opportunity to be part of a very special holiday campaign with UGG. I truly loved the experience, especially the gift-exchange activity, where we got to surprise one another. It was a unique and fun way to kick off the holiday season.

What clothing items are essential for you during the colder months of the year?

In Puerto Rico, it’s rarely cold, so when I travel to cold places like New York, I do have to prepare. As a true island boy, I like to wear comfortable clothes that keep me nice and warm. A good hoodie, an oversized jacket, and—obviously — a pair of UGGs never let me down.

Which Christmas traditions are closest to your heart?

The Christmas traditions I hold most dear are those I share with my family. From making coquito together and enjoying lechón and arroz con gandules at the table, to going out for parrandas and chinchorreo with the people I love. For me, Christmas in Puerto Rico has a unique energy; there’s always music, food, and plenty of family around. Ultimately, what matters most is being with family, keeping our customs alive, and creating memories together.

What kind of gifts do you like to give during this season? What are your go-to gifts?

It really depends on the person. I like to pay attention to the things they mention wanting throughout the year, and then surprise them when they least expect it. I feel those are the best gifts — when someone realizes that you truly thought about them.

What message do you want to share through your UGG holiday campaign?

That people should enjoy this season with their loved ones. Sometimes we get so focused on everything else going on that we lose sight of those small moments. For me, the best part of giving a gift is seeing someone happy, and that’s what we want to convey with this campaign.
