Summary

  • Francesco Risso’s genderless 2026 UNIQLO F.RISSO knitwear collection features neutral-toned merino sweaters in various necklines, plus HEATTECH accessories with bright accents.

  • Releasing October 29, the line expands Risso’s Fast Retailing role after his 2025 Marni exit and 2026 GU appointment

Francesco Risso’s UNIQLO F.RISSO returns right in time for the changing seasons with a collection titled “Made for Dreaming”. As a follow-up to F.RISSO’s colorful SS26 debut, the designer-backed line returns with a full collection of 2026 knitwear powered by UNIQLO’s technology.

In an official statement, Risso explained his goal: “to employ machines capable of engineering a seamless piece of knitwear, only to pursue the irregularity, depth and almost primitive intimacy of something made by hand.” The designer mused about a time when textiles were defined by the human touch, “when every imperfection carried the evidence of its maker.”

The “precision of the machine” and “beauty of the human hand” are central tenets in Risso’s genderless collection, which employed UNIQLO’s 3D knitting technique to make garments in one piece. The apparel lineup includes merino wool sweaters offered in turtleneck, mock neck, polo, V-neck, and boat neck styles. For essential Winter accessories, HEATTECH socks and beanies are showcased in three duo-tone colorways. The overall color palette is subdued, leaning into neutrals like tan, navy, and black, with bright hits provided by accents of yellow and light blue.

After ending his famed tenure at Marni in 2025, Risso was enlisted by UNIQLO’s parent Fast Retailing to be the Creative Director of sister brand GU in early 2026. The additional UNIQLO F.RISSO line has only expanded the scope of his creative influence at the company, a relationship extending back to his Marni days, when Marni x UNIQLO first landed in 2022.

The UNIQLO F.RISSO 2026 Knitwear collection drops on October 29 at UNIQLO stores and the brand’s web store.
