Fall enters his fourth NBA season after previously competing overseas for the Ningbo Rockets
The Philadelphia 76ers have officially signed 7-foot-6 center Tacko Fall to a two-way contract, addressing frontcourt depth following multiple injuries during the preseason. The franchise announced the roster move on Saturday.
Fall initially signed an Exhibit 10 deal with Philadelphia last month before earning an elevated roster designation. The frontcourt opening emerged after projected backup center Ariel Hukporti sustained a season-ending right Achilles tear during preseason play. Depth concerns compounded further with center Adem Bona sidelined by a foot ailment and Dominick Barlow missing the entire preseason slate due to persistent back soreness.
The transaction marks Fall’s return to the NBA for his fourth career campaign and his first appearance since the 2021-22 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The 30-year-old big man spent his initial two seasons with the Boston Celtics alongside current Sixers forward Jaylen Brown, before most recently playing in the Chinese Basketball Association with the Ningbo Rockets.
Fall joins the 76ers’ active rotation as the team works to stabilize its frontcourt rotation heading into the regular season.
