Craig McDean presents 750 Super Sport, a Ducati-inspired photography exhibition at UNDER R TOKYO.

Running October 23 - November 6, the exhibition also features a photography book.

UNDER R, in partnership with Ron Herman, is set to host a photographic exhibition by British fashion photographer Craig McDean this month.

Based in New York, McDean first gained recognition through influential publications such as i-D and The Face in the early 1990s before establishing himself as one of fashion photography’s leading figures, shooting campaigns and editorials for brands including CHANEL, Jil Sander and Calvin Klein. Titled 750 Super Sport, the exhibition shifts his focus from fashion to the mechanical artistry of Ducati, presenting a series of photographs dedicated to the Italian motorcycle manufacturer’s legendary 750 Supersport Green Frame. Accompanied by a photography book of the same name, the project captures the motorcycle’s sculptural forms, engineering details and enduring cultural significance, translating its industrial design into a photographic study of craftsmanship and beauty.

At the heart of the exhibition is the Ducati 750 Supersport Green Frame, a motorcycle whose origins trace back to the early 1970s. Developed under Ducati chief designer Fabio Taglioni, the 750cc L-twin racing machine made an immediate impact at the 1972 Imola 200, securing first and second place on its debut. Its subsequent road-going iteration became one of the marque’s most coveted collector’s models, with just 401 examples of the Green Frame produced. Distinguished by its single-seat configuration, open exhaust system, triple disc brakes and desmodromic valve technology, the 1974 model embodied an uncompromising approach to performance and hand-built engineering.

Extending the project beyond the gallery, UNDER R has also developed a collaborative apparel capsule featuring short-sleeved and long-sleeved T-shirts in black and white. The short-sleeved designs feature McDean’s motorcycle imagery on the front with “750 Super Sport” typography on the reverse, while the long-sleeved versions incorporate a top-down motorcycle photograph alongside printed text and sleeve graphics. Priced at ¥8,800 JPY (approximately $59 USD) and ¥12,100 JPY (approximately $81 USD), respectively, the pieces translate the exhibition’s photographic identity into wearable form.

The Craig McDean 750 Super Sport Photography Exhibition will run from October 23 through November 6, 2026, at UNDER R TOKYO.
