Vans Snowboarding Introduces the Super Standard in Ryo Aizawa's Signature Colorway
Releasing October 16: The first signature colorway snowboard boot for a Japanese rider.
Vans Snowboarding has teamed up with professional snowboarder Ryo Aizawa to launch the Super Standard snowboard boot (Ryo Aizawa Black/Snake). The boot drops Friday, October 16, at the Vans official online store and authorized retailers. It is priced at ¥38,500 (tax included).
This model marks the first signature colorway for a Japanese rider in Vans Snowboarding history. Inspired by snowboarding’s golden era in the late 1990s, Aizawa and the Vans snowboard design team collaborated on the color and design.
The boot takes the flexible, playful feel of the flagship Hi-Standard OG and applies it to a lower-profile design. It’s built for versatility, handling everything from park to powder.
On the performance side, the boot features a V3 UltraCush™ liner equipped with quick-drying FlashDry™ technology, a V2 PopCush™ footbed, and a V1 Waffle Lug outsole made with All-Trac™ cold-weather rubber compound. Additionally, a V2 harness enhances heel hold to support traction, cushioning, and control.
Ahead of the launch, a premiere event titled “Searching for Ryo Aizawa” will be held on Thursday, October 15, at HVEN in Nakameguro, Tokyo. The event will feature an advance screening of a new film produced by South of France-based apparel brand Wasted Talent to coincide with the boot’s release. The night will also include a Q&A session with Aizawa himself, a photo exhibition, DJ sets, and an unveiling of the Super Standard. Admission is free, and no prior registration is required.
