Hiroshi Fujiwara has officially opened applications for the second term of FRAGMENT UNIVERSITY starting in November 2026

The nine-part in-person lecture series features guest faculty covering non-traditional perspectives from music theory to human nature

Prospective students must submit their application and motivation statement by September 28, 2026

Hiroshi Fujiwara has officially announced the second term of FRAGMENT UNIVERSITY, opening applications for its upcoming session starting in November 2026. Supervised directly by the street culture pioneer, the nine-part educational initiative invites visiting professors from various fields to teach subjective perspectives and non-general knowledge.

Conceived as a six-month learning program rather than a traditional academic institution, the second term features a specialized faculty roster. Lecture subjects include Ryohei Kamide on “Outsider theory,” Yusuke Nakagawa exploring “anti-establishment theory,” Keisuke Nakamura discussing “Possession theory,” Noritoshi Furuichi covering “Human nature,” Bose presenting “Contemporary Music Theory,” Jane Su on “Verbalization ‘different’ theory,” and Matsunuma Rei examining “co-creation theory.”

All nine sessions will be held strictly in person with no online streaming provided. Admission requires a pre-selection process where applicants must submit their purpose and motivation via an entry form alongside registering for a free Shueisha ID. Graduates from the first class receive automatic application approval upon submission before the deadline. Following the conclusion of the lectures, the curriculum content is scheduled to be published as a book after late 2027.

Applications for FRAGMENT UNIVERSITY’s second term close on September 28, 2026, at 23:59 JST, with selection results and enrollment details released starting October 19 ahead of the November 13 start date.
