TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO is set to open its doors on September 17, 2027 in Hokkaido.

It features 107 rooms with a "Mid-Century Folklore" design theme.

Amenities include the iconic restaurant Sushi Saito and a 40-meter water spa.

Japanese boutique hotel brand TRUNK has officially announced that its newest destination, TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO, is scheduled to open on September 17, 2027. Marking the boutique brand’s first venture outside of Tokyo, the property will be located in the Sapporo Daibiru building within the heart of Hokkaido’s central Odori district.

Emphasizing a philosophy of deeply understanding the local context, the hotel aims to offer an experience uniquely shaped by Hokkaido’s history, culture, nature, and cuisine. Housed across the 10th to 18th floors, the property will feature 107 guest rooms alongside premium amenities, including an all-day dining restaurant, a lounge and bar with live music, versatile banquet space and a private entertainment studio equipped for cinema and karaoke.

Designed by GENERAL DESIGN CO., LTD. and TRUNK Atelier, the hotel’s overarching aesthetic follows a “Mid-Century Folklore” theme. This design concept thoughtfully reinterprets mid-century design through TRUNK’s unique perspective, drawing direct inspiration from Hokkaido’s natural landscapes and traditional handiwork. The guest rooms utilize wood-centric textures and finely crafted details to create a warm environment where visitors can feel the presence of nature despite being in an urban center.

In addition to its beautifully appointed rooms, the hotel introduces the brand’s first-ever spa, TRUNK(BATH HOUSE). Positioned on the 18th floor as an immersive “water utopia,” the facility features a 40-meter waterway and ten distinct swimwear-friendly bathing zones designed with varied lighting, sound, and temperature stimuli, alongside high-temperature saunas and open-air baths.

Elevating its culinary offerings, TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO will also host the first Sapporo location of “Sushi Saito,” the globally acclaimed Edo-mae sushi restaurant. At this exclusive 10th-floor counter, diners will be able to enjoy a unique regional style of sushi that masterfully blends traditional Edo-mae techniques with Hokkaido’s exceptional local ingredients. Slated for a grand opening on September 17, 2027, the property will offer a luxurious range of accommodations, from standard rooms to expansive spa suites.

Nightly room rates are projected to range from ¥60,000 to ¥600,000 JPY (approx. $375 to $3,755 USD). For more information, visit the official TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO website.
