  • Production on the upcoming season has been actively underway since May
  • The high-stakes French series remains one of the most popular non-English productions in Netflix history

Netflix has officially confirmed the return of its global phenomenon with Lupin Part 4 scheduled to release later this year. Omar Sy is locked to reprise his iconic role as Assane Diop, the suave gentleman thief who has captured international audiences. Following a highly successful run for its first three installments, production on the next chapter of the French saga has been actively underway since May.

The upcoming season picks up after the dramatic events of Part 3, which saw Assane steal the Black Pearl, fake his own death, and save his estranged mother before ultimately surrendering to the police to protect his family. Now behind bars with a full set of Arsène Lupin books to keep him company, the narrative looks to explore his next high-stakes moves. Main star Omar Sy expressed his excitement for the return, noting that the character serves as an extraordinary plaything that brings immense joy every time.

The acclaimed series continues its status as one of Netflix’s most successful non-English properties, with its previous three parts holding the third, sixth, and tenth spots respectively in the platform’s historical rankings. Created by George Kay in collaboration with François Uzan, the series is produced by Gaumont alongside Carrousel Studios. Sy and Louis Leterrier serve as showrunners for the project, aiming to elevate their creative ambitions and deliver fresh twists against the backdrop of Paris.

Lupin Part 4 drops October 23 via Netflix.
