Amazon MGM Studios has officially released the first look at Sophie Turner as Lara Croft, marking the start of production for Prime Video’s highly anticipated Tomb Raider series.

Released to coincide with the first days of shooting, the image introduces the Game of Thrones alum as the globetrotting adventurer, promising a “massive scale” reinvention of the franchise. Turner leads a cast that blends canon favorites with new faces; Jason Isaacs steps in as Lara’s uncle, Atlas DeMornay, while Bill Paterson portrays the faithful butler Winston. Sigourney Weaver joins as Evelyn Wallis, a mysterious new character described as a “high-flying woman” looking to exploit Croft’s talents.

Helmed by creator and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) alongside co-showrunner Chad Hodge, the series aims to unify the Tomb Raider timeline, connecting the live-action narrative with upcoming video game titles like Legacy of Atlantis.
