Marvel Television has kicked off the New Year by dropping a new two-minute trailer for the highly anticipated series Wonder Man. With less than a month until its debut, the latest footage offers a first real glimpse at the titular hero’s hidden abilities and the high-stakes chaos following their emergence.
Starring Emmy and Tony Award winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, the eight-episode series follows a struggling Hollywood actor desperate for his big break. After a chance encounter with Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley), Simon learns that legendary director Von Kovak (Zlatko Burić) is remaking a superhero film titled Wonder Man. As Simon pursues the life-changing role, the series provides a satirical peek behind the curtain of the entertainment industry. However, the latest trailer reveals that Simon is far from a regular civilian; his dormant superpowers are rapidly surfacing, drawing the unwanted attention of Damage Control, the U.S. government agency tasked with cleaning up the aftermath of superhero conflicts.
Directed by Shang-Chi filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, Wonder Man is set to premiere on Disney+ on January 27. Check out the full trailer above.
