- Powered by 4R36 automatic movement, the watch features a 37.4mm steel case, gold-accented dial and engraved caseback
Seiko has once again partnered with American heritage brand J. Press for a new collaborative timepiece. The partnership continued with the new SBSA317, a limited-edition model within the Seiko 5 Sports line.
Building on their earlier collaborations that fused Japanese watchmaking with Ivy League-inspired sartorial cues, this iteration draws from the SNXS series and incorporates J. Press’s classic preppy aesthetic. The 37.4mm stainless steel case is paired with a gold-accented dial and a bracelet designed to echo traditional tailoring details. On the caseback, the J. Press logo is engraved alongside “LIMITED EDITION” and the individual serial number, underscoring the exclusivity of the 500-piece run.
The SBSA317 is powered by Seiko’s 4R36 automatic movement, offering both manual winding and hacking seconds, with a power reserve of around 41 hours. The watch features a day-date complication, 24 jewels and 10-bar water resistance, making it practical for everyday wear.
A special presentation box and interchangeable leather strap are included, allowing wearers to adapt the watch to different styles. Limited to just 500 pieces domestically in Japan, the watch retails for ¥61,600 JPY (approx. $399 USD and is now available for order through Seiko’s Japanese webstore.
