Nike’s Latest Running Challenge Brings the Heat to Dubai’s Streets

If you’ve checked off Couch to 5K, get ready to raise the bar with Nike’s latest running challenge. Amid the marathon season, the sportswear brand is tasking runners in Dubai to complete as many 10K stretches as possible in 10 days.

Starting this week, the running challenge comes in celebration of the new Vomero 18 launch in the Middle East. A specialized road running sneaker, it combines the brand’s trademark ultra-cushioned ZoomX foam and a ReactX midsole to create a comfortable base for everyday runners. With its bold colorways such as “Barely Green/Hyper Crimson” and “Dusty Cactus/Geode Teal,” the shoe also promises to make a statement both on the streets and racetracks.

Putting the Vomero 18 to the test, Nike has been handing out pairs to contenders of the challenge via its Vomero Clubhouse pop-up on Dubai’s Kite Beach. Here, runners can complete their 10K runs from Point Zero and back with the support of brand ambassadors as well as members of the Uncommon Run Club. After taking part in the group run, they will also be able to enjoy coffees and smoothies from local eatery Feels Café.

For those who want to continue the challenge after the activation ends, the brand has partnered with Strava on a special leaderboard tracking the 10K stretches. Whoever lands at the top can win exclusive rewards and gain entry to the Copenhagen half marathon in September.
