JAY-Z and Alicia Keys may have a new collaborative track on the way.
The rumors spurred as Keys took to social media to announce that her and Hov’s 2009 hit, “Empire State of Mind,” officially surpassed 1 billion streams. “1 Dream. 1 Song. 1 Billion streams,” she wrote, adding, “Thank you! We love you. What’s next…” Her caption was accompanied by a 15-second monochromatic video that sees her walking up to JAY-Z, although no other information was provided.
“Empire State of Mind” appeared on Hov’s 11th studio album The Blueprint 3 and is both a commercial and critical success. It remained at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks straight, is currently certified 9x platinum by the RIAA and took home Best Rap Song and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the GRAMMY Awards.
