Genesis introduced its G80 EV Magma Concept at a grand event in China, marking a significant step in the brand’s expansion into high-performance electric vehicles. This unveiling comes alongside the debut of the newly designed Electrified G80.

The G80 EV Magma Concept, part of Genesis’ newly launched Magma program, is tailored specifically for the Chinese market with its exclusive “Acme Blue” color. This vibrant shade is inspired by the intense blue of the highest-temperature flames, symbolizing the brand’s dynamic evolution in high-performance luxury.

SangYup Lee, Head of Genesis Global Design, expressed excitement about the new frontier the Magma program represents, aiming to redefine performance and luxury. “The G80 EV Magma Concept is a stunning expression of our design and engineering capabilities,” Lee stated, emphasizing the vehicle’s role in meeting the sophisticated demands of Chinese consumers.

The concept car distinguishes itself with numerous enhancements over the standard Electrified G80. It features a more aggressive front grille, wider fenders and a redesigned rear bumper, contributing to a commanding road presence. Performance enhancements include a tuned suspension for better road-holding, larger ventilated brakes for superior handling and lightweight wheels that optimize brake cooling.

Inside, the G80 EV Magma Concept doesn’t skimp on luxury, sporting Alcantara, quilted leather and carbon fiber inserts with a unique blue weave, blending high-tech with high style.

No information on production plans, pricing, or availability has been shared at the time of writing.
