Swatch Brings VERDY’s Iconic Character Onto a Limited-Edition Timepiece
Marking Vick’s first debut in a bronze brown hue.
Ahead of this weekend’s Venice Biennale opening, VERDY has unveiled a 4-meter-tall bronze sculpture, starring Vick, at the center stage of the event. In tandem with this piece, Swatch also partnered up with the Japanese graphic artist to release a playful limited-edition timepiece based on his new sculpture.
VERDY’s iconic panda-rabbit character is featured all over the watch. From the case, dial to the strap, the piece is doused in an anodized bronze brown hue, much like its larger-than-life sculpture. Together, both the timepiece and the sculpture also mark the first time for Vick to appear in any color other than black and white.
Releasing as part of the brand’s Biennale Special collection, the VICK BRONZE BY VERDY watch is based on the silhouette and specifications of the GENT, boasting a versatile 34mm case size. The hour and minute hands complement the warm tone of the timepiece in a gentle gold hue. Meanwhile, the seconds hand is coated in a bright red, echoing Vick’s tongue on the watch dial. A hidden, but noteworthy feature of the watch is that tongue color will transition from red to orange, pink and yellow daily, adding an extra touch of playfulness to the piece that aligns with VERDY’s artistic philosophies.
Priced at $105 USD, the VICK BRONZE BY VERDY limited-edition wristwatch is currently available via Swatch.
