Nike's Squash-Type N. 354 Receives AJ1 "Shattered Backboard"-Like Makeover
Complete with scribbled branding and details all around.
Nike‘s N. 354 division has brought many interesting pairs, and one of them is the ’80s court-sport-inspired Squash-Type. After initially dropping in a clean summer-appropriate “Summit White” colorway, the retro-tinged sneaker now appears in the fall-ready mix of “Summit White/Dark Obsidian/Alpha Orange” — or as sneaker aficionados will notice, a palette similar to Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan 1 “Shattered Backboard.”
The “Shattered Backboard” is one of the most popular AJ1 colorways around, and as a result, makes for a brilliant Squash-Type N. 354. Nike has used a mixture of suede, leather, and mesh for the sneaker’s upper, and dresses the pair with plenty of detail.
For example, the Swoosh is embroidered thinly onto the “Summit White” mesh mid-panel, while a small Squash-Type badge appears just off the eyestay placket. Elsewhere, a tongue tab sports scribbled Nike Swoosh and N. 354 branding, with the latter also appearing on a black leather heel tab.
The shoe takes on a skateboarding sneaker-like aesthetic with elements such as the split suede vamp and front-quarter detailing, as well as its off-center toe box patch. Lastly, a low-profile white midsole complete with reversed Nike branding near the toe rounds out this pair.
Nike’s Squash-Type N. 354 in “Summit White/Dark Obsidian/Alpha Orange” is available now at stockists such as Asphalt Gold for €89 EUR (approx. $105 USD). Take a closer look at the pair above.
In other news, rumor has it that a Dior x Nike Air Max 95 could be in the works.
