Summary

  • SKIMS hired former Supreme veteran Erin Magee as its first-ever Chief Design Officer.

  • Simultaneously, the brand promoted Kim Schraub to the newly created role of Chief Brand Officer.

On August 24, SKIMS officially announced that designer Erin Magee was hired on as the brand’s first-ever Chief Design Officer, along with the promotion of Kim Schraub to Chief Brand Officer. Kim Kardashian’s shapewear and apparel label made the announcement just days after Magee shared her departure from Supreme, ending her 22-year tenure at the legendary streetwear label.

In an official statement provided to WWD, Magee said, “Skims has done something rare: built a brand that is both deeply personal and universal.” “The commitment to design, innovation, and solutions for every body is genuinely inspiring, and I’m excited to help shape what comes next. I look forward to working alongside this talented team to push the creative boundaries of the brand and create products that people truly connect with,” she added. As SKIMS continues to expand its international presence and product mix, the Supreme veteran and Mademe founder will be tasked with supervising design and creative product direction.

On August 20, Magee posted her goodbye on Instagram: “It has been the honor of a lifetime to be part of the World Famous Supreme Team.” She had been with the brand since 2004, holding multiple positions throughout her tenure. In 2007, Magee launched Mademe, a women’s streetwear brand that has released collaborations with major brands like Doc Martens, Alpha Industries, and Courtney Love‘s band Hole.

Kim Kardashian commented on the new appointment, saying, “I’ve admired Erin’s work for years. The way she approaches design with such a strong point of view while staying completely connected to her audience is something I deeply respect.” “She understands what it means to build something that truly resonates, and I’m so excited to welcome her to Skims,” she added.
