A24 has officially dropped the teaser trailer for Spike Lee‘s new film Highest 2 Lowest. Starring Denzel Washington and A$AP Rocky, the New York City crime thriller reimagines Akira Kurosawa‘s 1963 classic High and Low.
his crime thriller marks the fifth collaboration between the legendary director and Washington, their first in nearly two decades since Inside Man. Washington plays a revered New York City music executive caught in a high-stakes ransom plot that forces him to confront a moral dilemma. The teaser, set to James Brown’s “The Big Payback,” offers a rapid-fire glimpse into the tense atmosphere of the film, featuring Washington delivering a hard-boiled monologue amidst scenes of New York City life, police activity, and moments of violence. The trailer also introduces A$AP Rocky as a rapper named Yung Felon and highlights the ensemble cast, including Jeffrey Wright and Ice Spice in her acting debut.
